Upthrust in fluids: Buoyancy, experiment, conditions required, characteristic properties, reason for upthrust and mathematical proof.

UPTHRUST IN FLUIDS Upthrust The upward force exerted on a body by the fluid in which it is submerged, is ca lled the upthrust  force in liquids or buoyant .Upthrust in liquid  is denoted by the symbol  F B .                          The property of liquid to exert an upward force on a body immersed in it,is called buoyancy . EXPERIMENT Need : A empty can with a air tight stopper on its open end. A container filled with water. An empty can on water Working : Put the can over  the water Observation : It can be seen that the can with its larger portion floats over the water and a smaller portion of is inside the water. On pushing the can inside the water it tries to come out because of the upthrust on it. It is also noticed that more and more the can is pushed greater the upthrust becomes. When the can is completely inside the water a constant force is required to keep that in its place. And it is the maximum upthrust on the can applied. CONDITIONS FOR

What is Ocean current ? Definition, types and causes.

Image
Ocean Currents Ocean current The movement of oceanic water in the ocean in a particular direction is called  ocean current. TYPES OF OCEAN CURRENT There are two types of ocean current. They are follows: Warm and cold ocean current Warm current -These are the currents which flows from the low latitudes(tropic zones) to the high latitudes(temperate and sub-polar zones). Cold currents -These are the currents which flows from the high latitudes towards the low latitudes. FACTS TO BE KNOWN Ocean current The forward of the oceanic water in the direction of the movement of the wind is called drift . The drift which moves at a speed of about 3 km to 8 km in a particular direction is called current . The movement of huge mass of water on the land surface with a velocity of about 6 km to 10 km i called stream . CAUSE OF OCEAN CURRENT  Causes of ocean current The ocean current is caused due to some factors. These are as follows: ON THE BASIS OF TEM

Tides: Its occurrence, formation, types on the basis of length and time.

Tides Tides The alternative rise and fall in the level of the ocean water in the ocean is known as tides .

Pascal's law Pascal's law Pascal's law states that the pressure exerted anywhere in a confined liquid is transmitted equally and undiminished in all directions throughout the liquid.
